Legal Literacy. Building a Relationship with Law and Regulation
4 March 2010 - 4 March 2010
Legal Literacy
-Building a Relationship with Law and Regulation-
Thursday 4th March 2010, RudolfSteiner House, 11.00am to 16.30pm.
Many of us are experiencing the presure of that which we perceive to be overregulation.
Within the Cultural Stream, (in which we include Curative Education, Social Care and Therapy), we may experience this as an attack of our Freedom, and on our ability to carry out our work creatively, from our own Spiritual Sovereignty.
This workshop is introductory in nature and its intention is to explore:
- What is Law?
- From whence does it come?
- Is this particular Regulation that faces me really 'Law'? and
- Am I in 'Right Relationship' with it [Law or the Regulation]?
The morning will be a brief introduction to the history of Law making, particularly in the English Legal Tradition. It will include the concept of 'Equity' and of how we may influence the development of 'Law' and 'Regulation' in our field of vocation.
In the Afternoon, we will take a practical example of a 'regulation' and apply the concepts and perceptions explored during the morning.
The workshop is facilitated by Frances Zammit. Frances practiced as a Barrister from London Chambers between 1993 and 2002 and, among other things, has taken cases to the Court of Appeal and The High Court.
Frances' current interest is to support an understanding of the Law, particularly in Athroposophical and other Spiritual based initiatives.
It would be helpful if those who are interested would provide, (well in advance of the day), details of a particular regulation which they find troublesome, so that Frances can do the necessary research for the afternoon session. (There will be time to cover one or perhaps two items on this occation)
This workshop is organised by ACESTA (Anthroposophical Curative Education & Social Therapy Association)
Non-members are welcome, and are asked for a contribution.
Please note that refreshments and light lunch will be available to prchase on the day.

Colour Light as a form of Metal Therapy
26 March 2010 - 28 March 2010
Last year Marianne Altmaier and Lucien Turci introduced the basis of this form of colour light therapy with Dr.David McGavin and Hazel Adams sharing something of the first 18 months of work with the glass panels at Blackthorn Medical Centre.
This year the focus will take up the specific qualities of warmth and their various effects through the above metals. There will be time for observation and reflection on experiences together with some aspects of specific case work. The outcome of this therapy is the subject of ongoing research with the Filderklinik nr. Stuttgart, with the Vidar Klinik in Sweden also beginning this work shortly alongside other institutions in Germany. It is also intended to bring an outline of the proposed modular training for this therapy during this weekend.
The cost for this seminar is £150.00 per person including meals, and it is hoped low cost accomodation can be arranged as last year. To attend, please fill in an application form (click here) and send by post or email (adams.hc@googlemail.com) to Hazel Adams, Blackthorn Medical Centre, St. Andrews Road, Maidstone, Kent.
