Social care encompasses Social Therapy - an integrated approach to care, education, guidance and life-sharing for children and adults with special needs. 

There are 600 centres in over 40 countries working with Anthroposophic principles in social care. In the UK and Ireland alone there are over 50 Camphill centres, 5 Garvald centres, The Ruskin Mill Educational Trust incorporating The Hiram Academy and Freeman, Glasshouse and Ruskin Mill Colleges, and numerous other educational and care initiatives as Nutley and Pericles in Sussex.
